Would you like to join our team? We are looking for an Accountant with relevant experience (considering the focuspoints hereafter) or with the ability to become quickly acquainted with these tasks on a temporary - 1 year - contract.

Function

We’re looking for an Accountant with project controlling experience to temporarily strengthen our Finance team. In this role, you will ensure accurate financial administration and compliance with BE GAAP and internal policies. You will also play a key role in supporting project accounting and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting Tasks

  • Process purchase invoices and bank transactions
  • Manage outgoing invoices and lecturer fees (via SD software)
  • Prepare VAT returns and IC declarations
  • Support quarterly and year-end closings (BE GAAP)

Project Controlling

  • Apply project accounting principles (WIP, % of completion, accruals)
  • Manage financial aspects of research projects (e.g., Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe)
  • Prepare cost declarations, monitor budgets, and support project reporting
  • Contribute to budgeting for research departments

System & Process Improvement

  • Work with Navision (MS Dynamics); knowledge of ODOO is a strong asset
  • Support the transition to ODOO (go-live planned for 01/01/2026)
  • Update and create accounting manuals, especially for project controlling and ODOO integration

Profile

    • Proven experience in accounting and financial reporting
    • Strong knowledge of BE GAAP and tax regulations
    • Experience with project controlling and EU-funded project administration (or alike)
    • Proficiency in Navision (MS Dynamics); ODOO knowledge is a plus
    • Fluent in Dutch and English
    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and time management
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Nice to Haves

    • Experience with SQL or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Google Analytics)
    • Experience with Python and Linux
    • Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., Craft, WordPress, Odoo CMS)
    • Previous experience supporting Marketing or Sales teams in a digital environment
    • Basic understanding of GDPR and data privacy principles
