Would you like to join our team? We are looking for a Post-doc/Assistant Professor in Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The team is involved in research and teaching on, among others, the following topics:

  • Digital (platform) business models and the nexus between innovation / entrepreneurship and digital technologies;
  • Entrepreneurial strategy;
  • Technology adoption in networked contexts;
  • Action learning projects guiding aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups;
  • Corporate venturing and intrapreneurship;
  • Entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial competencies;
  • Large-scale, transformative innovation processes and governance models ;
  • ….

Function

We are looking for a Post-doc/Assistant Professor in Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship with a strong interest in teaching in our advanced masters and executive education programs. You will be part of the group and network of faculty and thought leaders of Antwerp Management School and the University of Antwerp – Faculty of Business & Economics. The job consists of three major key tasks.

Teaching & coaching component (50%). You’ll have the opportunity to teach topics in Strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship towards a variety of audiences going from the full-time masters to executives. Also you’ll have the time to develop, design and lead new programs in these topics.

Research component (40%). You’ll have possibilities to work on existing research projects in strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship and can take the lead to apply for new projects in the topic. You’ll be integrated in the Antwerp Centre for entrepreneurship research (https://www.uantwerpen.be/en/research-groups/antwerpcer/), a joint center of AMS and the University of Antwerp which includes around 20 researchers in the topic.

Service component (10%). AMS and University of Antwerp are focusing heavily on innovation and entrepreneurship. Supporting and igniting new initiatives on the topic developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem of AMS and the University of Antwerp is another exciting part of the job.

Profile

Applications are open to any PhD-level qualification in social sciences (applied economics, sociology, social psychology, theory & methods,...).

Do you have experience with or an interest to develop yourself in:

  • Teaching & coaching in Strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship by empowering and supporting participants going from young entrepreneurs to experienced executives;
  • Designing new programs and learning journeys;
  • Taking the lead together with colleagues to apply for new research funding to develop new and exciting knowledge;
  • Providing key notes towards various audiences;
  • Collaborating in a multidisciplinary, multi-national research team.

We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial mindset, who are comfortable in project management and in engaging with companies and stakeholders. Candidates should be able to express themselves fluently in English, both in conversations and in writing.

Offer

A full-time, fixed-term contract (approximately 2 years), with prospect of a longer term engagement.
