Would you like to join our team? We are looking for a Senior Researcher Applied Organizational Neurosciences for the Acerta / AMS NeuroTrainingLab, led by Prof. dr. Steven Poelmans.


As Senior Researcher Applied Organizational Neurosciences, you will be part of several teams of researchers studying leadership and cultural intelligence as part of the Melexis Endowed Chair of High Performance Organizations and adaptability Acerta / AMS NeuroTrainingLab, led by Prof. dr. Steven Poelmans. The Acerta / AMS NeuroTrainingLab is a development and research methodology for emotional and social intelligence, adaptability and leadership that uses competence measurements and biometric indicators.
The job exists of three key tasks.
The largest part of the job is doing research on the neuroscience of leadership and adaptability. You’ll get the opportunity to create new knowledge and tools to support leadership learning and development tracks in company-specific and open programs at AMS.
  • Developing of literature studies and research reports;
  • Development and evaluation of psychological tests and biometric wearables;
  • Data collection and analysis.
Second, you will in charge of the day-to-day organization and functioning of the NeuroTrainingLab, the coordination of research activities, setting up of experiments and studies, the use of biometric instruments and the management of data.
  • Planning and organization of research activities;
  • Internal and external communication with and coordination of researchers and participants in research;
  • Data management.
Third, you will assist the team with the design, development, redaction, and presentation of reports, publications, and research proposals based on the research.
Finally, you’ll have possibilities to gain teaching and coaching experience within our leadership modules and programs.


Applications are open to any PhD-level qualification (“Post-Doc”) in social sciences (organizational / experimental) psychology, psychobiology, and / or neuropsychology.
These are the relevant qualifications that will be taken into account:
  • A passion for learning and development of individuals in organizations;
  • Applicable knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods;
  • Experience with advanced statistics and programs (SPSS, Excel, MS Teams);
  • Experience with biometric instruments and software (IMotions, EEG, skin conductance);
  • Organizational talent, initiative and curiosity;
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Language skills: Fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch is considered a plus.


A full-time, fixed-term contract, with prospect of a longer term engagement.
